Metro 7 Diner

ABOUT US

Chef and owner, Otto Maier, is the face and flavor behind Metro 7 Diner’s delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. He started his experience in the restaurant industry as a dishwasher in 1990 at Neptune Diner in Hudson, New York. This is where he also began his experience with cooking.

He then went on to becoming a chef by attending the Culinary Institute of America. Otto graduated in 1993. From there, he began his culinary arts career at the Grand Hyatt in New York City where he was employed as a sous chef. As time went on, his culinary journey led him to cooking for a French bistro in Great Barrington, Massachusetts called La Tomato. After his time in the Berkshires, he moved to Weavers in Loudonville. Afterwards, he started spending time freelancing as a Kosher cuisine chef. In addition, he led the culinary services for a variety of banquets and catering events such as the 1996 Olympics at the Grand Hyatt in Atlanta, Georgia. Otto ultimately became an Executive Chef. In 2004, Otto opened his first restaurant, O's Eatery (formerly The Taconic Diner), until 2018. In addition, from 2013 until recently, Otto was the Executive Chef for O's in Hillside, New York. Otto would now like to welcome the community to Metro 7 Diner. He is excited to offer simple yet delicious comfort food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. In addition, he is still offering catering services, a variety of upcoming specials, and deals you won't want to miss. During your visit, don't forget to say 'hi' to his wife, Andrea. She manages the front of the restaurant to ensure you feel invited and welcomed. The Maier family wants you to enjoy your experience at Metro 7 Diner, in Latham, New York. Welcome!
